A "schoolyard" plaza, but this one is up on a roof. Open Road started creating this public space in 2002 on the roof of the public school at 350 Grand Street, at Essex, NY, NY 10002
5 public high schools share the school building, New Design, Essex, Lower Manhattan Arts, Gov and Law, and Dual Language/Asian Studies. The roof is open to all of them and hosts public events like the annual Rooftop Rampage, Halloween Hellraiser, and Rooftop Films.
